Dumplings!

I made dumplings last night for the first time in years! I had forgotten how great they are and very filling. Here's the recipe I used but I'm sure there must be variations. Ideas any one?

Sieve together:
2 cups of flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt.

Add enough milk to make a stiff dough. Drop spoonfuls into boiling broth and leave the lid on for ten minutes! They were delicious with our beef stew.

Mmmm....thought about making these when we had the stew from our Canadian Thanksgiving turkey but felt intimidated as I'd never tried before. Will give this recipe a shot with the American Thanksgiving turkey.

On occasion, mine have turned out hard as rocks. I think the trick is to have a pot with a well fitting lid and not be tempted to lift it to see how they're doing before a good ten minutes!! Very yummy though. I often make biscuits to go with soup/stew too, which always go down really well over here because they are unusual.
